Our lawyers successfully represented the client in the Supreme Court on the dispute between transport prosecutor’s office, on the one hand, and the customs department and client, on the other hand.
The dispute was concerned the classification of universal marine vessel imported in Kazakhstan for the major offshore project. Considering that vessel has various functional characteristics it could be classified differently and as result customs duty could be considerably different.
Our lawyers were engaged upon failure in local courts. Taking into account that negative court consideration could impact only our client (not disputing state authorities), the number of outstanding issues, including procedural and material, was reconsidered.
In particular, our litigators developed and strengthened the strategy and position of the client, engaged qualified marine and customs specialists and made detailed presentation in the Supreme Court.
