SIGNUM participated at the Law Society and Bar Council of England and Wales 2017 Legal Year Opening

On 1-3 October 2017, London saw the Opening of The Legal Year, one of the most celebrated events in the legal calendar of England and Wales. To discuss the latest trends and share experience in the sphere of regulation of the legal profession, the Law Society of England and Wales brought together the bar leaders from across the globe.

SIGNUM’s Managing Partner Sofiya Zhylkaidarova and SIGNUM’s Senior Associate Gaukhar Kudaibergenova represented the Kazakhstan Bar Association and spoke on the regulation of the legal profession in Kazakhstan. Panel experts from UK, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine shared their thoughts and discussed the problems the CIS region faces due to the unregulated legal market.

SIGNUM representatives have also been actively engaged in the roundtables discussions on International Trade in Legal Services and the Rule of Law; Diversity in the Legal Profession and Judiciary; Technological Innovation to Increase Access to Justice.
