SIGNUM lawyers participated in the AIFC conference in Almaty

On 14 May 2018, our lawyers participated in a conference hosted by the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC). Speakers Sir Rupert Jackson, Andrew Oldland QC and Christopher Campbell-Holt gave an overview of the AIFC court, the International Arbitration Center and the AIFC laws. Their speeches addressed the advantages of the AIFC litigation, further steps to implement the activity card and the acts under which the AIFC will operate. The questions from the audience drew close attention. The discussion delved into court representation by the local specialists and the procedures for their admission, the geographical field of the AIFC activities, the fees, the commercial disputes resolution and other specific issues of jurisdiction and organization of activities.
