SIGNUM Managing Partner Sofiya Zhylkaidarova and Senior Associate Gaukhar Kudaibergenova participated in the conference of Association of Taxpayers Kun Lun in Almaty, Kazakhstan

On 20 April 2018, in Almaty, the Association of Taxpayers Kun Lun hosted a conference devoted to a broad range of issues of subsoil use industry in Kazakhstan, namely, the main changes in the new Tax Code and the new Subsoil Use Code, as well as the law-enforcement practice (the latest tax disputes in subsoil use from the speakers’ experience). Aside from SIGNUM, representatives of KPMG and Pricewaterhouse Coopers spoke at the conference.

In her own presentation, Managing Partner of SIGNUM Law Firm, Sofiya Zhylkaidarova reviewed recent legal cases in the local subsoil use industry from SIGNUM’s judicial experience. Her speech quickened public interest, especially in part of compensation for environmental damage and associated gas taxation.
