Renewable Energy

• Acted as a local counsel to one of the largest Chinese state-owned power companies on the implementation of a 1 GW wind power project in Kazakhstan. 

• Acted as a local counsel to a major international renewable energy company in connection with a 1 GW wind power project in Kazakhstan.

• Provided a full-fledged M&A legal support for the acquisition of six renewable energy projects by a Chinese state-owned power company.

• Conducted legal due diligence of ten Kazakhstan renewable energy companies for corporate restructuring purposes.

• Conducted legal due diligence of a renewable energy company for a contemplated acquisition by Chinese investors.

• Conducted legal due diligence of Kazakhstan companies engaged in renewable energy projects.

• Advised on corporate registrations, re-registrations, and liquidations of legal entities, branches, and representative offices of foreign renewable energy companies.

• Provided legal advice on the first-ever renewable energy policy project in Kazakhstan aimed at regulatory development, auction process improvements, and enabling competitive tenders for RE projects.

M&A, Investment Projects

• Provided full M&A legal support for the acquisition of a major Kazakhstan bank by a Russian investor.

• Provided full M&A legal support for the acquisition of a major Kazakhstan media holding (four companies: TV and radio).

• Conducted legal due diligence of a Kazakhstan company operating in the field of payment solutions for banks and retail.   
  Provided full M&A legal support for the acquisition of a major Kazakhstan companies producing paving slabs and landscaping elements companies.

• Prepared legal opinion for the EBRD as part of the PPP project in Kazakhstan.

• Drafted a legal memorandum for the largest telecommunication company on telecommunication and satellite issues in Kazakhstan.

• Legal advising of Kazakhstan start-up company on regulation of payment systems in Kazakhstan.

• Preparation of legal memorandum on construction and EPC matters in Kazakhstan for Chinese investor.

• Assisting with obtainment of number antimonopoly consents for investment projects.

Corporate and Commercial Law

• Assisted a major Japanese corporation with employment, secondment, and work permit matters, as well as general corporate law issues.

• Advised a major Chinese state-owned corporation on branch registration and EPC/construction law matters in Kazakhstan.

• Provided a day-to-day corporate and business law support to one of the largest food delivery companies.

• Registered limited liability partnerships and companies for various clients, including an automobile dealer and a Chinese investor implementing a waste recycling project.

• Handled charter capital increases and pledge registration/re-registration for multiple companies.

• Provided legal support for company liquidations and corporate restructuring processes.

AIFC

• Assisted with registration and post-registration activities of numerous legal entities within the AIFC.

• Prepared a legal memo on corporate protection mechanisms under AIFC regulations.

Pro Bono

• Assisted the Red Cross with legal matters related to satellite phone usage and prepared annual reports on the compliance of internal policies with Kazakhstan laws.

• Provided legal consulting for individuals seeking compensation after the "Bloody January" events through the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs.

• Published numerous articles on legal regulation of renewable energy in Kazakhstan.

• Completed training at the Qazaq Green Association’s Renewable Energy School (Школа ВИЭ).

• Participated as an observer from EBRD in a renewable energy auction in 2022.
