COVID Kazakhstan: anti-crisis measures to support SMEs in emergency situations - taxation

Kazakhstan is implementing anti-crisis measures to support small and medium-sized businesses. The measures include extended deadlines for tax reporting, zero tax rates, reduced VAT rate, and other tax breaks.

On March 31, President Tokayev announced additional support to the business by further reduction of the tax burden. All the companies from most effected sectors of the economy will be exempted from taxes related to the employees’ salary fund for six months between April 1 and October 1 of 2020. These sectors include catering, retail, transportation services, consulting, IT, hospitality, tourism, etc.

The State Emergency Commission will approve the final list and keep updating it as necessary.
